Internet Usage Policy


POLICY:

Internet services are to be used to acquire information related to, or designed to facilitate the performance of regular assigned duties; and to facilitate performance of any task or project in a manner that is consistent with Volunteers of America’s legitimate business interests.

PROCEDURES:

1. Transmission of any material in violation of any United States or state
regulation is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, copyrighted
material, threatening or obscene material, or material protected by trade
secret.

2. Use for commercial activities outside of Volunteers of America Delaware
Valley’s business objectives or product advertisements are prohibited.

3. The use of the Internet is a privilege, not a right. Inappropriate use,
including any violation of these conditions and rules, may result in
cancellation of these privileges, as well as disciplinary action as specified
in the employee handbook.

4. Volunteers of America Delaware Valley senior management has the
authority to determine appropriate use and may deny, evoke, suspend or
close any employee’s access at any time based upon its determination of
inappropriate use by that employee.

5. Volunteers of America Delaware Valley reserve the right to review any
material accessed by employees with Internet access to determine the
appropriateness of such material. Volunteers of America Delaware Valley
may review this material at any time.

6. Security of Volunteers of America Delaware Valley computing resources
is a high priority, especially since the systems are used for our daily
business. Users must abide by the following security steps; do not
download software from the Internet onto any disk drive in use at the
company without prior consent of management and the systems group,
do not allow any other employee to use your login name and/or password
without the permission of management, discovery of any security problem
will be reported to your line manager and the systems staff immediately.
